BIO 396 - Synth. Biology: Engr. Life
~ Synthetic Biology: Engineering Life ^ Prerequisites: All LEP Tier 1 classes and 7 out of 9 LEP ^ Tier 2 classes including MAT 122 & completion of ^ Natural World I and II requirements. Synthetic biology as an emerging interdisciplinary field that intersects biology, mathematics, physics, computer science, and engineering. Real-world problems are identified and student-driven projects are performed using network modeling in order to make predictions and assumptions, and then molecular biology and gentetic engineering laboratory techniques are used to redesign genetic circuits in single-celled organisms. 4 credits
