BIO 396 - Synth. Biology: Engr. Life |
~ Synthetic Biology: Engineering Life
^ Prerequisites: All LEP Tier 1 classes and 7 out of 9 LEP
^ Tier 2 classes including MAT 122 & completion of
^ Natural World I and II requirements.
Synthetic biology as an emerging interdisciplinary field
that intersects biology, mathematics, physics, computer
science, and engineering. Real-world problems are identified
and student-driven projects are performed using network
modeling in order to make predictions and assumptions, and
then molecular biology and gentetic engineering laboratory
techniques are used to redesign genetic circuits in
single-celled organisms.
